About Me
Welcome to Mr. Deep Pockets’ Website. I hope you enjoy the contents of this site. I will try my best to share my experiences and advice with everyone. My goal is that in some measure I have helped the reader better his or her life.
In summary, I come from humble beginnings. My family was very poor and we barely had food on the table. I was, however, exposed to entrepreneurial ventures through my relatives and that provided me with a foundation to start small businesses and investing.

I attended college under a scholarship program. I excelled in school. I also started businesses while in college, got married, and graduated with honors. I then worked on Wall Street and that experience provided me with valuable experiences in finance, strategy, and leadership.
A year before the financial crisis in 2008, I applied for business school, so when the recession happened, I was already in graduate school shielded from the tempest that rocked Wall Street. In 2010, I graduated from business school and embarked on a career in the energy industry as an analyst. I sourced, analyzed, structured, and executed business deals.
My wife and I hit our first million net worth at the age of 36 (as of the start of this website on October 11, 2016, I was 38). I see the American dream alive and vibrant. There are others, however, who think that the American dream is living a life of luxury or having the 4,000 square feet home with a whole lot of mortgage loan and with a garage full of big cars and expensive toys, and eating out at fancy restaurants.
I believe the real American dream is about being prudent, working hard, and choosing decisions wisely. You need to use common sense and be able to look through the fog of fad that clouds good judgment. It means not buying things you cannot afford and live within your means. It entails not keeping up with the Joneses and not always choosing the easy route or life of convenience. It’s about discipline and character development. It’s a change in perspective and behavior altogether.
As stated above, I hope this blog, in some ways, helps people better their lives and in return help others to do the same.
Sincerely,
Mr. Deep Pockets.
